Roli Mabo Foundation (RMF)​

This foundation was opened in the memory of my mother Mrs. Roli Mabo and my mother’s mother, Titi Omoruwa.

While my mother was alive (died at age 58), she was held back by two shortcomings:

A Lack of Education and a Lack of Healthcare

We have two objectives:

To provide FREE basic education to children and give them the basic rights to read and write.

To provide healthcare services to those who do not have any access to it at all or those who cannot afford it especially in areas of free care and testing. 

My mother could neither read nor write, she also died due to the poor healthcare system in Nigeria having been wrongly diagnosed with malaria for six months while cancer struck.

So The Roli Mabo Foundation was inspired by the plight of my mother, Roli Mabo so nobody else goes through the same thing my mother went through.

Our Current Project site: Jakpa village, Niger delta creek, Delta State.

This is an isolated village accessible only by a 2-hour boat ride on the Benin River into the Niger delta creek. This village and its neighbouring villages have no access to healthcare.

There is a shabby primary school with barely 5 teachers who are severely underpaid to work in a remote village with no adequate facilities.

Our commitment to our donors:

100% of every single dollar donated goes directly to the children of Japka village.
No donation goes through a 3rd party
Ade Mabo and team are always on ground to manage, dispense and execute every project.
The children and communities benefit directly from your kind donations
We (RMF) will match dollar for dollar of all donations to assure you of our commitment to the people of Jakpa village
We also operate a very transparent model of charity such that you will be involved at every stage

2021 Achievement

2022 Achievement

We have now launched the clinic. A FREE medical Healthcare center in Jakpa that caters for community with 2 registered nurses on 2 weeks shift basis.
We have now launched a FREE teachers transportation system that allows teachers to travel from mainland of Sapele to the creeks(2 hours boat ride) for FREE both back and forth as many times as they want.
We have established a incentive program to compensate parents up to 20,000 naira per term($25 USD) if they keep their children in school to encourage child education and reduce force child labor.

This project is called Volunteer Accomodation Program.
This was done in conjunction with voluntary donations from the Titi Omoruwa family.
The Project is now 40% done.

2023 Goals

Our next set of projects are below as we have identified 10 new communities without schools, library, Healthcare etc in the Delta State Niger Delta Creeks

1.) Use existing school structure from the Government to establish new schools for ijaw, ilaje and itsekiri children with school structure on itsekiri land(we have identified multiple ijaw children with zero schooling in villages less than 5 minutes by boat to Itsekiri villages). Educational structure to be established to cater for ALL children who are willing to attend regardless of their tribe The schools will be on itsekiri soil and opened to all
2.) Create a school boat system to pick and drop off kids to school
3.) Provide school uniforms for ALL children including school books, materials, shoes, bags etc for easy learning
4.) Hire 4 teachers on a 2 weeks rotation shift to support the school. This will be at a cost of 50k per teacher per month(hoping Government can reallocate teachers to community to help remove this cost)
5.) Provide FREE transportation from Sapele to creek villages(back and forth) for teachers (this we already did in Jakpa so we duplicate in other areas)
6.) Build *Titi Omoruwa Foundation Library* in all set up school structure(this we already did in Jakpa
7.) Find churches, itsekiri groups in diaspora, individuals of influence to agree to sponsor a village at a cost of $5000 a year solely and primarily to cover teachers cost while the foundation cover all other over cost
8.) Create a parents compensation bonus of up to 20,000 naira to all parents who keep their children in school with less than 3 absentee in a term to boost and encourage parents from forced child labor which is high in this region
9.) Continue occasional feeding and food distribution programs in ALL the village
10.) Open channels for other volunteers to partners(churches, NGO, international organizations etc) to come and work in this region for the advancement of Itsekiri nation and other children of other nations in the Niger Delta Creeks

With this strategy, we will bring LIGHT and EDUCATION to this region and give another 1000 children HOPE for a better future and better Nigeria

*Roli Mabo foundation* will continue to sponsor and give scholarships 100% to the best of the best of these kids up to university level.

*Titi Omoruwa Foundation* will continue to provide government recommended books and standard libraries to every community that a school structure is erected.

God help us all and God bless Titi Omoruwa grandchildren and Roli Mabo children for these initiatives.
